A device for mounting a chip sack, provided with a supporting yoke, on a portable circular saw is to be simplified in particular to the effect that the chip sack can be emptied without loosening connecting screws and can be used even when using the portable circular saw as a circular saw bench. For this purpose, the connection piece at the chip-discharge opening is provided with a peripheral groove into which an adaptor accommodating the chip sack can be pushed, in which arrangement the chip sack can be pressed against the adaptor by means of a clamping plate, and the clamping plate is supported on an encircling bead of the adaptor and engages in the latter, and furthermore the supporting yoke of the chip sack can be inserted into a peripheral groove of the adaptor (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
