Method and device for recording address conversion pairs in an address conversion buffer memory

A data processing system for handling a virtual address space exhibits a dynamic address converter for converting logic addresses into real addresses. The dynamic address converter exhibits an address conversion buffer memory (14) for temporarily storing several address conversion pairs with in each case one logic address and a corresponding real address. When the address conversion pairs have to be recorded in the address conversion buffer memory (14), an addressing control is carried out in order to check whether each of the converted real addresses is a valid memory address or not and recording of conversion pairs for which addressing errors have been found is suppressed.
