In a crash helmet having a device for ventilating the helmet interior, consisting of a closable ventilation opening (4, 4') in the helmet dome (1), adjoining which there are air-conducting channels (10, 11, 12) on the inside of the dome (1), the visor panel can be kept free from misting without the helmet wearer's eyes being directly exposed to a draught if the ventilation opening (4, 7; 4', 7') connected to the air-conducting channels (10, 11, 12) is directed towards the back of the helmet (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
