LAMINAR FLOW STEEL SHEET COOLING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To obtain a titled device capable of cooling a hot rolled steel sheet uniformly in its width direction by installing a water receiving board movably in the width direction of the sheet between laminar flow nozzles and the sheet and adjusting the spraying width of cooling water. CONSTITUTION:In a laminar flow steel sheet cooling device for cooling a hot- rolled strip 10 which is being transported by a hot run table 11 by falling cooling water fed from a nozzle main pipe 12 through hair-pin or slit-laminar-flow nozzles 13 in a laminary flowing state of cooling water 15; water receiving boards 16 for receiving the laminary flowing cooling water 15 and changing its flow direction to discharge it to a return pipe 20 through a receiving trough 19 are provided to both sides in the width direction of the strip 10 to prevent the excessive cooling of both ends of the strip 10. The boards 16 are reciprocated by driving motors 17 and leading screws 18 to adjust the width of laminary flowing cooling water 15 thereby cooling the strip 10 uniformly in its width direction.
