PURPOSE:To make the shift operation in both of right and left directions possible by shifting data, which is selected by a selector, to the left in a shifter by a shift quantity generated in a decoder. CONSTITUTION:A selector 3 selects one of given data to be shifted and data, which is formed by arranging data of the first bit of said data to be shifted in all bits from the first bit to the n-th bit and arranging data of the second bit - the n-th bit of said data to be shifted in the (n+1)th bit - the (2n-1)th bit, by a left/right shift indicating signal 8. A decoder 4 generates a given shift quantity or the difference between a maximum shift quantity and the given shift quantity by a shift quantity indicating signal 11 and the left/right shift indicating signal 8. A shifter 5 shifts data, which is selected by the selector 3, to the left. |
