PURPOSE:To rotating a magnetic developer at the circumferences of a rod of magnetic material at a high speed and increase frictional electrostatic charge by arranging the magnetic material rod in the lengthwise direction of a magnetic brush developing means within the range wherein the magnetic force of the magnetic brush developing means extends. CONSTITUTION:The rod 5 of magnetic material is provided nearly in parallel to the shaft 4a of the magnetic brush roller 2 within the range wherein the magnetic force of the magnetic brush developing roller 2 extends. When a magnet roller 4 rotates as shown by an arrow A and one of N pole parts comes closest to the rod 5 of magnetic material, the magnetic developer 6 forms a chain from the N pole part of the roller 4 to the magnetized part 5a of the rod 5, and its tip part is attracted to the magnetized part 5a of the rod 5. The chain of the developer 6 is divided into two as the roller 4 rotates, and the developer 6 attracted to the rod 5 makes one turn around the rod 5 in contact every time a couple of opposite magnetic poles of the roller 4 pass, performing frictional electrostatic charge. Thus, the frictional electrostatic charge of the developer is increased. |
