PURPOSE:To prevent formation of rust on a metallic surface and to provide the surface having excellent adhesion to resin and secondary adhesion by treating the surface with a mixture composed of different kinds of org. silane compds. CONSTITUTION:A metallic surface is treated with the hydrophilic org. silane compd. expressed by the general formula R<1>mSi(OR<2>)4-m[where R<1> is an alkyl, cycloalkyl, etc. having a substd. polar group, R<2> is an alkyl or aryl which may have a substituent, m=1, 2 or 3] and the non-hydrophilic org. silane compd. expressed by the general formula R<3>nSi(OR<4>)4-n[where R<3> is an alkyl, vinyl, etc. which may have a substituent, R<4> is an alkyl or aryl which may have a substituent, n=1, 2 or 3]. Then the formation of rust on the metallic surface is prevented and the excellent adhesion to resin and secondary adhesion are provided.
