PURPOSE:To accurately control a pulser, etc. by comparing a current in a circuit which connects a pulse power source to a capacitor connected in parallel to a machining gap, to a current in a circuit which connects said capacitor to said machining gap, and judging the condition of electric discharge. CONSTITUTION:When wire cut machining is carried out with a wire electrode 1 being moved in the direction of arrow while pulsed electric discharge being applied to a gap between the electrode 1 and a workpiece 5, pulse voltage is supplied with a transistor switch 8 being turned on and off by means of a pulser 9. Also, at this time, a capacitor 10 is allowed to fully discharge, carrying out electric discharge of a pulse current having an increased peak value of discharged current. Thus, a switching pulse current and a discharge current between the capacitor 10 and the machining gap, are detected by detecting circuit 11, 12 respectively and both the detected values are compared in a comparison circuit 13. And, when any abnormality in electric discharge is detected, the pulser 9 is controlled by means of a control device 14 so that the discharge be returned to a normal condition. |
