In the case of an apparatus for producing a metallic annular body, for example a synchronising disc blank or roller bearing race blank, to accomplish a simple and cost-effective method of production it is envisaged that a bending device, which is capable of bending a semi-finished product into a ring which is open at one point, is followed by a welding device, which is capable of welding the open point closed.
