PURPOSE:To improve working efficiency by permitting replacement of tools between a tool magazine and a tool warehouse, in the unit of cartridge in which a plurality of tools are accommodated, in an automatic tool exchanger in which tools are stored in the tool magazine through a cartridge. CONSTITUTION:This automatic tool exchanger 1 is constituted so as to be freely shiftable between one or a plurality of machine tools equipped with an automatic tool exchanger and a tool warehouse arranged at a separate place from the machine tool, and possesses the form of a transportation car 150. Said transportation car 150 is equipped with an exchanging-tool magazine 154 having a cartridge receiving chamber 152 in which a plurality of cartridges 39 are accommodated at each plate. The automatic tool exchanger for machine tools is equipped with a disc-shaped tool magazine 22 and a tool exchanging arm 19, and replacement of cartridges 39 between the exchanging tool magazine 154 is permitted by said tool magazine 22. Further, the machine tool is equipped with a transfer apparatus including a cylinder, in order to carry-out said replacement. |
