PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body having high sensitivity and stability to an environmental change by using photoconductive particles obtd. by purifying a specified polycyclic quinone pigment by sublimation as a carrier generating substance and a specified styryl compound as a carrier transferring substance. CONSTITUTION:Photoconductive particles of <=2mum average particle size obtd. by purifying a polycyclic quinone pigment represented by formula I [where X and Y are groups of atoms required to form a (substituted) condensed ring together] by sublimation are used as a carrier generating substance. A compound represented by formula II [where each of R<1> and R<2> is (substituted) alkyl, the substituent is alkyl, alkoxy or phenyl, R<3> is (substituted) phenyl, naphthyl, anthryl, fluorenyl or a heterocyclic ring, and R<4> is H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy or alkylamino] is used as a carrier transferring substance. The substances are incorporated into separate layers to form a laminate type photoconductive layer, or they are incorporated into the same layer to form a single layer type photoconductive layer. The resulting sensitive body has low temp. dependency and undergoes slight reduction in the sensitivity especially at low temp. |
