PURPOSE:To easily determine the deterioration degree of a permselective membrane in separating an oxidizing agent-containing liquid by said membrane, by mounting an oxidizing agent amount display material, which is discolored in the vicinity of the usable limit amount of an oxidizing agent of the membrane, to a liquid contact part. CONSTITUTION:In performing the membrane separation of an oxidizing agent- containing liquid by using a permselective membrane, an oxidizing agent amount display material which is discolored in the vicinity of the usable limit amount of an oxidizing liquid of the permselective membrane is mounted, for example, in a label form, a tape form or a paint form. A mounting place is not especially limited if the contact part with a liquid is selected and said oxidizing agent amount display material is mounted to an easily mountable place such as the membrane module, the tank, the arranged pipe or the pump in a membrane separation apparatus, pref., at a position easily observed from the outside by adhesion or painting. Because it is sharply discolored when the amount of the oxidizing agent in a liquid reaches the vicinity of the usable limit amount of the oxidizing agent of the permselective membrane, the amount of the oxidizing agent in the liquid can be measured and the history of the amount of the oxidizing agent in the apparatus can be determined.
