The indexing machine continuously produces, fills and seals vessels, pref. made of plastics sheet, with a covering sheet. It incorporates a device (9) holding the covering sheet (6) in the correct position in relation to that (1) forming the vessels, and synchronising their two movements. The device can be situated after the sealing station (10) in the transport direction of the sheets, and above the path along which the covering sheet is fed, having a holder (11) movable towards this sheet.
