PURPOSE:To switch the press-contacting force of the front edge part of the blade to the surface of a photosensitive body optionally high and low, and to eliminate a defect of cleaning and minimize the damage of the front edge part of a wiper blade made of elastic material by moving up and down the rear edge part of the wiper blade. CONSTITUTION:When a copying machine starts operating and enters a preparatory cycle stage wherein no influence is exerted upon a copy, an electromagnetic solenoid 13 operates to operate an operating layer 14, and a pressure setting plate 12 is rotated clockwise to draw up a spring 11; and the front edge part 8 of the blade 7 is held pressed against the surface of the photosensitive body 6 at high pressure through a connecting lever 10 and a channel 9 to scrape off foreign matter such as residual toner arriving while sticking to the surface of the photosensitive body and powder in the residual toner. At this time, the front edge part 8 of the blade 7 moves to some specific position in the rotating direction of the photosensitive body 6 and scrapes off the toner there. When this copying process is completed, the electromagnetic solenoid 13 is released from the operation before the rotation of the photosensitive body 6 stops, and returns to its original state by its restoring force. |
