Construction vehicle for placing and/or extracting piles, sheet pile walls, piled foundations or the like in or from the earth, or for making earth bores, with a leader (1) adjustable in its spatial position and a pile hammer or earth-boring mechanism displaceably arranged on it. A transmitter (2) detecting the deviations from the vertical is fastened to the leader (1). The values measured by the transmitter (2) are passed via a measuring transducer (6) to an indicating device (7) and/or a controller and from there to an actuator (10) for changing the position of the leader (1). The transmitter (2) can consist of two hollow rings (3) fitted with contact electrodes (4), the measuring transducer (6) of a resistance bridge circuit, and the actuator (10) of proportional valves (11) or on/off valves. <IMAGE>
