A plug-in contact socket which is arranged on or at least partially in a carrier and consists of a contact region having one or more spring tongues running in the socket longitudinal direction and of a transition region which is adjacent thereto, enables connection to an electrical conductor and is held on or in the carrier. The technical problem is to ensure a low contact resistance from the contact tongues to the connecting conductor, a high contact pressure and reliable blocking of the contact region against the ingress of solder. The transition region (2b) is of can-shaped construction and has a can base (8), which runs essentially at right angles to the socket longitudinal direction and is provided for connection (10) to an electrical conductor (11), on the end facing away from the contact region (2a). <IMAGE>
