PURPOSE:To utilize effectively an image storage memory by making storaged memory in polling transmission ineffective at an optionally set time. CONSTITUTION:When an operator hits the polling transmission key of the operation input part 1l of a facsimile part 1, a CPU 2e retrieves a free file control table to turn on a flag. Then, when an original is set on a scanner 1a and a start key is turned on, the CPU2e retrieves a free area in the video memory 2c and a CPUT1h operates the scanner 1a to store image data in the memory 2c and also set FFH (H: hexadecimal) in the memory control table. On the other hand, a specified storage time is inputted in the file control table. Then, the CPU2e makes stored data for polling transmission at the specified time.
