A device is proposed for regulating or controlling the speed of a DC motor by means of a pulse-width generator in which reliable acceleration is ensured, even under load, at low speeds and over a large speed range. For this purpose a DC voltage is superimposed on the signal of the pulse-width generator, the amplitude of the DC voltage being small in comparison with the amplitude of the pulse-width generator. <IMAGE>
