The invention relates to a circuit arrangement for processing flash-readiness signals which are given by a flashlight unit into a photographic camera. The aim and object of the invention is to use one and the same camera with flashlight units whose flash-readiness signals are of different polarity, without an adaptor being used as an additional unit. According to the invention, there is arranged in the camera a detector circuit for the signal polarity which is electrically connected to the flash plug shoe contact for transmitting flash-readiness signals and from which it is possible to supply, preferably indirectly to a camera electronic system connected downstream thereof, a logic level independent of the polarity of the respective flash-readiness signal.
