PURPOSE:To make a metal and a rubber crawlers interchangeable by each other for the caterpillar-type moving unit of a construction machine or the like, by providing a portion for the rotary wheel run of the machine or the like, on the top of each of the protrusions of metal cores extending out of the rubber crawler from the inside of its tread belt. CONSTITUTION:An endless tread belt 1 is made of rubber. Numerous metal cores 2 are embedded in the belt 1 along its length L so that each metal core extends along the width W of the belt. Sprocket holes 6, in which the sprocket teeth of a drive wheel are engaged, are provided alternately to the metal cores 2. Lugs 7 for heightening the traction force are provided on the portions of the outside of the tread belt 1 which correspond to the metal cores 2, so that the lugs come into contact with the ground. Each metal core 2 is provided with a pair of protrusions 8 extending out from the inside of the belt 1. The top of each protrusion 8 is elongated in the longitudinal direction L of the belt 1 so that a rotary wheel running portion 9 with a flat top is provided. The distance C between the rotary wheel running portions 9 is smaller than the diameter of a rotary wheel and is such that the running portions not push each other when the tread belt 1 is revolved.
