PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium having high sensitivity even in a longer wavelength region and enabling repeated erasion and rewriting by forming an optical recording layer of a specified material on a transparent substrate and a light reflecting layer on the recording layer. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording medium is composed of a transparent substrate 1, an optical recording layer 2 and a light reflecting layer 3. As2S3, As- Sb-S or other amorphous chalcogenide causing photodarkening phenomenon and having its absorption end in a longer wavelength region is used as the material of the layer 2. Thus, an optical recording medium having high sensitivity even in a longer wavelength region and enabling repeated erasion and rewriting is obtd. |
