PURPOSE:To reduce the number of switches provided on a camera body by utilizing adroitly an existing operating switch for adjusting a white and black balance so that it can be utilized as a switch for selecting a character as well. CONSTITUTION:The figure shows a part of a video camera 10 which has automated each adjustment of a white and black balance by utilizing a microcomputer 6. The first and the second switches SW, SB for selecting a white and black balance adjusting mode are provided, and also a character generator 20 and the third switch SD for selecting a character display mode are provided. Each adjusting mode of a white and black balance is obstructed by operating this third switch SD, and the switch SW and the switch SB are used as a selecting switch of a character and a switch for selecting a display position of the character, too, respectively. A selected character is superposed on a video signal by a prescribed timing, and displayed on a view finder through a terminal 5. |
