PURPOSE:To make a mill compact by forming it into a titled one and to reduce an initial investment by performing a rough rolling with four rolls and inserting another rolls to perform a finish rolling with six rolls. CONSTITUTION:In changing a rolling to a finish rolling immediately after completing a rough rolling, an upper work roll 1a of work rolls 1a, 2a is raised by a rolling reduction screw 8 and the lower work roll 2a is lowered by a rolling reduction screw 10, to obtain a space into which upper and lower small diametral work rolls 11, 14 are inserted. After inserting the rolls 11, 14, back up rolls 6, 9 are screwed up and down respectively to bring all the rolls into contact with each other. Because the rolls 11, 14 are used only for the finish rolling, the surface roughennesses of them are remarkably reduced, the surface of a product is maintained always in excellent quality and the product of high quality is obtained. |
