PURPOSE:To miniaturize a disc automatic loading mechanism and to quicken the replacement of the disc by combining a disc turning mechanism and an access mechanism or the like to an elevator type automatic carrying mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A ball screw shaft 12 is driven electrically, a cartridge holder 2 of the elevator type automatic carrying device is elevated and descended and stopped to a designating positiond etected optically. Then, a spline shaft 13 is driven electrically, an arm 20 forming the access mechanism is moved and a prescribed cartridge 4 is carried from a cartridge storage box 1 to the holder 2 via the incorporated cartridge feeding roller 8. Further, the holder 2 is descended similarly, opposed to a cartridge outlet/inlet 6 of the disc turning mechanism 3 and the cartridge 4 selected via the arm 20 is loaded to the mechanism 3. Thus, the disc automatic loading mechanism is miniaturized and the replacement of discs is attained quickly.
