PURPOSE:To attain the automatic discount registration and to reduce the load of an operator by reading the information on the corresponding discount out of a discount information memory means when the number of registered articles of one transaction reaches a prescribed level. CONSTITUTION:An operator supplies a PLU (price look-up) code ''1'' by means of digit keys 41 and then operates a PLU key 43. The data corresponding to the input code ''1'' is read out of the register table of an RAM3, and it is discriminated whether the collective sale is permitted for the corresponding article or not. If the collective sale is permitted, it is discriminated whether or not the contents of a cumulative area of added unit number reach the number of units to which the discount is allowed. When the contents is reached to the number of units, the price on a collective sale processing table of an RAM3 is applied to the articles. Then both the name and the price of the article are displayed at a display device 5.
