PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of an oil-resisting unsaturated rubber due to the effect of a peroxide in sour gasoline by previously reacting halogen with a double bond section causing the deterioration of the oil-resisting unsaturated rubber and previously bringing the double bond section to a saturated state. CONSTITUTION:NBR (acrylonitrile-butadiene) is dipped in a chlorine solution in 0.01% concentration for fifteen min, and the surface of NBR is chlorinated, thus obtaining a sour-resisting rubber product. The years of the durability of a rubber product being in contact with sour-resisting gasoline at all times can be lengthened largely without damaging the rubber characteristics of NBR at low cost by the treatment. |
