<p>Manufacture of flexible, mica, insulating tape comprises (a) prepg. a compsn. comprising (1) semi-solid epoxide or a mixt. of (semi-) solid epoxide and liq. epoxide with a dolvent, the wt. ratio of total epoxide to total solvent being 85:15 to 10:90; (2) 0.01-5.0 phr of an organotin cpd. R SnX, where R is an organic gp. and X is halide, hydroxide, acetate, butyrate, propionate or diemthylphosphate; and (3) 0.001-lphr of an activator selectecd from catechol and/or pyrogallol;then, (B) applying the compsn. to flexible sheet material contg. mica so that the Sn compd. contacts the mica to act as a latent catalyst; and (C) removing at least 95wt.% solvent from the applied compsn. The amt. of organo-tin compd. is affective in forming a cured epoxide thermoset on heating over 150oC</p> |
