PURPOSE:To enable to reproduce an image in multiple colors by subtractive color mixture, by providing thermal heads at points corresponding respectively to transfer colors and located on the same operational base line in the moving direction of the thermal heads. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer tape 3 wound around a pair of reels 1, 1 is restrictedly fed in a direction inclined against the feeding direction of a printing paper 2. The tape 3 is provided with four regions coated respectively with inks 3a of different transfer colors of yellow Y, magenta M, cyan C and black B in parallel with each other in the feeding direction thereof on the side brought into contact with the printing paper 2. The thermal head 4 provided one for each of the transfer colors in the tape 3 are located on the same operational base line in the moving direction thereof, and the tape 3 and the thermal heads 4 are moved as one body in a horizontal direction perpendicular to the feeding direction of the printing paper 2. |
