PURPOSE:To efficiently remove residual chlorine in water, in the inflow part, the water purifying part and the outflow part of raw water, by providing uniform opening parts to the inflow part over the entire cross-sectional area so as to make the flow speed of raw water at the inflow cross-sectional area thereof constant. CONSTITUTION:Water is branched into a raw water outlet 3 and a purified water outlet 4 by the action of the cock cooperated by operating the dial 2 of the water purifier attached to a city water faucet 1. City water directly flowed out from the raw water outlet 3 but the city water from the purified water outlet 4 is flowed into a cartridge 8 packed with activated carbon 7 from the upper part thereof through a passage 5 and a check valve 6 and flowed out from the purified water outlet 4 while residual chlorine is removed by activated carbon 7 to be subjected to drinking water. In order to increase the effect of activated carbon, the water flowed out from an inflow passage 9 in the cartridge 8 takes a U-turn at the top part of a case and reaches an inflow plate 12 having almost equal opening parts over the entire inflow cross-sectional area thereof.
