发明名称 MANUFACTURE OF CATHODE STRUCTURE
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a long-life cathode structure having a good electron-discharging characteristic by giving a homogeneous strain to a base metal before it is heated in a reducing atmosphere to develop crystals and chemically polishing the surface to which an electron-discharging matter is to be applied. CONSTITUTION:A base metal is formed by performing hook pressing work or something similar on a thin belt prepared by rolling a nickel alloy containing a minute amount of a reducing agent. Next, the base metal is given a homogeneous strain by being subjected to compression or extension. Then it is heated in a reducing atmosphere which does not cause any internal oxidation and intergranular oxidation of the minute amount of the reducing agent contained in the base metal, thereby removing the strain caused by the above work and adjusting the grain diameters of the crystals of the base metal to within the range of 20- 60mum, preferably to within the range of 30-50mum. After that, the minute crystalline particle layer is removed by chemical or electrochemical polyshing. A sufficient effect is achieved with a polishing degree of over 3mu.
