For continuously fitting attachment lugs for cables (K) to supporting wires (Ts) or the like, a device which can be driven along the supporting wire (Ts) is provided which drives a supply of attachment lugs with it. These attachment lugs are placed down at a distance from one another and are pressed onto the supporting wire (Ts) and the cable (K) which is to be fitted, holding the two together, by means of impressing rollers (Pr1, Pr1'), which are arranged on both sides of the supporting wire (Ts), while the device continues to move on the supporting wire (Ts). In order to permit matching to different diameters of supporting wire (Ts) and/or cable (K), at least one part of the impressing rollers (Pr1, Pr1') has a roller holder (Rh, Rh') which is attached to a guide shell (Fs, Fs') which is domed in a circular-cylindrical manner, such that said roller holder can be displaced in the circumferential direction. <IMAGE>
