A stud press for setting a rigid haberdashery article on a carrier web by means of deformable holding elements, having a lower tool serving as a fixed abutment while the studs are set, and having a raisable upper tool, a receiver for the stud article parts being provided in the lower tool and in the upper tool and the stud article parts being feedable by a slide through guides to the receivers, the slide having, in addition to a first transport receiver provided at the front end, at least one second transport receiver for advancing the stud article part from the guide path to an intermediate station, the second transport receiver advancing the stud article part in a movement path from the guide path to the intermediate station which runs parallel beside the movement path of the first transport receiver, and the stud article part being transferable from the intermediate station, after the slide has been withdrawn, by a transfer device into the movement path of the first transport receiver, said movement path extending from the intermediate station to the processing receiver.
