The device for drying photographic film bases has slotted nozzles (28), which are arranged on both sides of the transport path of the film base, extend at right angles to the transport direction thereof, and are directed essentially perpendicularly onto the film base. Between the slotted nozzles (28), ventilation shafts (26, 27) are arranged and transport rollers (25) are mounted in specific ventilation shafts, the ventilation shafts being formed partially from sheets of varying width bent like parabolas, and the lateral surfaces (26a, 27a) of two adjacent sheets respectively forming a slotted nozzle (28). In this case, at least the side walls (26a) of the wider ventilation shafts (26) are joined to spacer webs (29), and the narrower ventilation shafts (27) are multiply bent to provide stability of form. Provided on the rear of the nozzles (28) on both sides of the transport path is one pressure chamber each connected to the fan. <IMAGE>
