PURPOSE:To control adequately the time for starting photometry and to improve the accuracy of analysis by detecting the generation of the spark discharge in a control spark gap with a photodetector, and determining the timing for starting the photometry by the detection signal thereof. CONSTITUTION:The light of spark discharge is conducted with an optical fiber F to a photodetector (d) which detects the generation of the spark discharge in a control spark gap CG. A Schmitt circuit 4 detects the rising part of the detector 4 and generates a pulse signal. A one-shot circuit (m) is triggered by the fall of the output pulse from the circuit 4 and outputs the pulse of a specified time duration (corresponding to the time until the discharge stabilizes). Another one-shot circuit M is triggered by the fall of the pulse to output the pulse of a specified time duration. A gate G is conducted by said pulse and the measuring signal from a spark gap AG for measurement is integrated by an integrating circuit I. |
