A hand held pneumatic impact wrench equipped with a side air supply tube (12) fixed to the cylinder housing of the tool (11) and which mainly extends angularly toward the striking direction of the tool. At the outer end is the tube (12) part of the housing (10) that is equipped with a vent (14) and a connecting device (15) for connecting an air pressure hose. A guide handle (19) for manoeuvring the tool during operation is connected to the outer end of the tube part (12) by means of a leaf spring (20). This is flexible in the striking direction of the tool but stiff in all other directions, which means that the operator is effectively protected from harmful vibrations that arise in the tool housing without losing the potential to effectively operate the tool in all directions. The spring (20) works entirely without friction and together with the handle (19) and tool housing (10), including the striking mechanism, forms a spring-mass system whose resonance frequency is lower than the operational frequency of the tool.<IMAGE> |
