PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as a strong antifungal agent having wide spectrum in high yield, by using a thiol derivative, a novel compound, as a raw material, reacting it with a reactive derivative of alcohol. CONSTITUTION:An optically active thiol derivative shown by the formula I is reacted with a reactive derivative of alcohol shown by the formula II (n is 3 or 4) preferably in the presence of a base in a solvent such as benzene, chloroform, etc. at -20 deg.C-100 deg.C, to give a compound shown by the formula III. The compound shown by the formula I is a novel compound, and synthesized by reacting an epoxide derivative of racemic modification shown by the formula IVwith an optically active thiolocarboxylic acid derivative to give two diastereomers, isolating the desired one diastereomer from the other, treating it with a base. A compound shown by the formula V is industrially advantageously used as the thiolocarboxylic acid.
