PURPOSE:To improve the potential stability of a reference electrode and measure the corrosion speed of a sample precisely by interposing an ion conductive solid- state film between test liquid and a metallic electrode body as a reference electrode among corrosion speed measuring electrodes which uses the sample whose corrosion speed to be measured as a working electrode. CONSTITUTION:The corrosion of metallic material by liquid having high electric resistance such as high-purity desalted water used for a boiling water type nuclear power plant, etc., is measured. In this case, the polarization state of a working electrode 2 is detected on the basis of the potentials of a working electrode 2, L counter electrode 3, and a reference electrode which has a metallic electrode body 4. For example, silver is held between the metallic electrode body 4 and test liquid watertightly by using a lid 7 for a container body while an ion conductive solid-state film 5 such as an organic ion selection film of solid-state electrolytes AgCl, AgCl+Ag2S, etc., is provided. The film 5 prevents the polarization of the reference electrode in case of the polarization of the working electrode 2, so the potential of the reference electrode is stabilized to detect the polarization state of the working electrode 2. |
