摘要 PURPOSE:To perform highly accurate measurement readily, by eliminating the deflection of a spindle in the rotating direction (incorrect displacement in the rotating direction) when the spindle is moved. CONSTITUTION:When a thimble is rotated, the rotary force is transmitted to an outer tube 72 by way of a coil spring 78 for constant pressure. Measuring pressure exceeding the constant pressure is not applied to a material to be measured. An engaging member 55, which is engaged with a spiral groove 73 tends to move along the spiral groove 73, when the outer tube 72 is rotated by the rotation of the thimble 76. Since the engaging member 55 is coupled to a long groove 53 of a tube body 52, which is fixed to a main body frame 11, the engaging member 55 is linearly and sequentially moved to the right with the rotation of the outer tube 72. By the movement of the engaging member 55, a spindle 23 is also moved by the same amount in the same direction. The amount of displacement movement of the spindle 23 is electrially detected by a displacement amount detector 51 and the amount of displacement is detected.
