PURPOSE:To enable to prevent the explosion accident from occurring at starting and yet to control combustion during operation also by a method wherein unburnt matter is detected by alternately repeating the sampling of gas and purging of sampling lines and the starting of a combustion device is performed after the safety is confirmed. CONSTITUTION:The presence or absence of unburnt matter is detected by introducing the gas in a boiler furnace 2 and a flue 3 through sampling lines 4 and 5 into detectors 6 and 7. During said detection of the unburnt matter, air A is supplied to the furnace 2 by opening a damper 22 in order to perform purging. When no unburnt matter is detected, a boiler is put to start. On the other hand, when unburnt matter is detected, gas is introduced through the sampling lines 4 and 5 again. In this time the gas, which have once introduced in the detectors 6 and 7 and analyzed there, is purged together with the gas in the sampling lines 4 and 5 by closing valves 8 and 9 and at the same time opening valves 12 and 13 once and, after that, the samplings of gases are performed by closing the valves 12 and 13 and opening the valves 8 and 9 again. |
