PURPOSE:To measure a switching time precisely by providing a sensor for detecting the current waveform of a breaker exciting coil, amplifier, waveform generating circuit, preset counter, and counter circuit, and performing masking except in a preset time. CONSTITUTION:The exciting coil 1 for the power breaker is impressed with DC 100V by a switch Sw to flow a current (i). Then, a main contact operates and an auxiliary Sw62 is operated by a mechanical link mechanism to cut off the current (i) automatically. This current is detected by the sensor 2 and supplied to an amplifier 3. The output signal of the amplifier 3 is made into a rectangular wave signal by the waveform shaping circuit 4 and the signal is inputted to an AND circuit 5, preset counter 6, and counter 7. When the time of the circuit 6 is denoted as Tp, an output pulse is generated after counting up to Tp and inputted to the other terminal of the circuit 5. The output of the circuit 5 is supplied as the stop signal of the circuit 7 to display a measurement time T on a display device 8. Thus, scattering in the middle is ignored to measure the switching time precisely.
