Process for producing a tobacco leaf-like material

A tobacco leaf-like material, to which cut tobacco can be added without further processing, is obtained by pelletising a mixture of fine tobacco particles, fibres, water and binder as well as, if appropriate, conventional tobacco additives and rolling the pellets thus obtained after drying to a water content of 8-25% by weight with enlargement of the surface.
