PURPOSE:To prevent an ink from crawling down or being distorted, by a method wherein guide rollers equipped with flanges are provided in a small space in a main body of a cassette. CONSTITUTION:A thermal printing ribbon body 35a wound in the form of a roll and located on the right side of the main body 34 of the cassette is fitted to a boss shaft 40, and the leading end of the ribbon let out therefrom is led to a leading-out guide 44 through guide rollers 41-43. The ribbon led out from the guide 44 to the exterior of the main body 34 is led out over the substantially entire length of the main body 34 toward a leading-out guide 45 provided on the opposite side, is fed therefrom to a position between a driving roller 46 for taking up the ribbon and a pinch roller 47, and is taken up by a take-up spool 48. The thermal head 26 is so fitted that the surface of the head is constantly separated from a platen 16 by an elastic force of an elastic member when it is not moved in a printing direction. When taking up the ribbon 35, the ribbon 35 is released from the pressure exerted by the head 26, a ribbon take-up load can be eliminated, and an ink layer of the ribbon 35 being let out can be protected. |
