The mixture of powder and carrier gas coming axially out of a nozzle is widened by an adjusting air flow coming out radially thus causing the formation of the desired spraying cloud. The electrostatic charge of the powder is carried out by means of a ionized gas flow which, separately from the adjusting air flow, is introduced in the powder and carrier gas mixture.
