PURPOSE:To miniaturize the pile driver of a pile driving machine by balancing a ram vertically upwards by a method in which the supporter of the ram is supported in the upper guide long hole of a columnar cylinder, and the projected portion of the supporter is connected with plural rods of an oil-pressure cylinder provided to the side wall of the columnar cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A pile driver consists of a columnar cylinder to be vertically guided by a pile-driving leader, having a guide long hole 13, a ram 5 vertically moving on the columnar cylinder, an anvil 21 fitted and supported on the lower end of the columnar cylinder, and oil-pressure cylinders 10 plurally provided to the side wall of the columnar cylinder. The supporter 14 of the ram 5 is supported on the upper guide long hole 13 of the columnar cylinder and the projected portion 14a of the supporter 14 is connected to the rods 15 of the oil- pressure cylinders 10. The rods 15 are raised by oil pressure, and the supporter 14 of the ram 5 is pushed up by a given stroke toward the upper part of the columnar cylinder along the guide long hole 13 to lift up the ram 5. When oil pressure is released, the ram 5 drops under its own weight and the head of a pile is driven through the anvil 21, etc.
