PURPOSE:To prevent intrusion of harmful impurities in a Pd plating bath in the stage of moving an object to be plated in said bath by using a Pd metallic body or a metallic body coated thereon with Pd in forming an electrode body which contacts slidingly with the object to be plated. CONSTITUTION:An Ni layer is plated to about 2mum thickness on a flat plate of, for example, phosphor bronze for a spring as an electrode body 11 for drawing out a cathode and further a Pd layer is plated to about 10mum on the Ni plating layer. A spring pressure is impressed on the phosphor bronze plate subjected to such coating treatment to bring said plate into contact with an object 12 to be plated. An auxiliary pressing jig 13 is a metallic body plated thereon with Pd similarly to the body 11 or a Pd metallic material. The cathode of a plating power source 14 may be connected to the jig 13 simultaneously with the body 11. The body 11 prevents the intrusion of harmful impurities in a Pd plating bath to permit stable Pd plating and is effective in improving the quality of the product.
