PURPOSE:To facilitate both the change and addition of functions of a computer system by providing a memory means which store plural programs and their names, a retrieving means for those program names and a program executing means. CONSTITUTION:When a CPU1 needs a program, a program having a corresponding identification name 12 is retrieved for ROM3, 4 and 5 successively. A path word PW11 written at the head of the ROM is checked to retrieve whether the ROM is connected or not. If the ROM has no connection, the next ROM is retrieved. While if the ROM has a connection, it is checked whether a program having the corresponding identification name is contained in the ROM package. The CPU executes the program if detected and then performs the processing in place of the program execution. It is possible to replace an existing program to be changed with a new program by adding newly a package of a memory means.
