PURPOSE:An additive for mixture of pulverized coal and oil having improved stability and flow properties, consisting of a reaction product of a terminaly hydroxyl group of a specific polyether compound and an organic carboxylic acid etc. CONSTITUTION:The titled additive containing (A) a compound obtained by reacting partially or completely (i) the terminal hydroxyl group of a polyether compound having 1,000-100,000 (preferably 3,000-100,000) with (ii) one or more selected from a group consisting of an organic carboxylic acid, carboxylic acid halide or anhydride, epoxy group- or vinyl group-containing compound, monoisocyanate compound, alkyl halide, aldehyde, halogenocarboxylic acid, hydrogen halide, and phosphorus halide, or (B) a compound obtained by oxidizing the component i of the component A with an oxidizing agent, as a main component.
