PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material capable of giving stable pictures and free of coloration in the ground portion by a method in which a leuco dye is added to the first layer containing a specific developer or to the second layer containing a zinc compound, and these two layers are laminated on a supporter. CONSTITUTION:The first layer containing one or more developers of salicylic acid compounds, 2-hydroxy-1-napthoic acid compounds, 1-hydroxy-2-naphtoic acid compounds, and 3-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid compounds, and the second layer containing a zinc compound are laminated closely to each other or with interposition of an intermediate layer on a suporter. In this case, a leuco dye is added to any one of the first and second layers. The leuco dye used includes dyes of triphenylmethane, fluoran, phenothiazine, auramine, or spiropyrane series preferably. |
