PURPOSE:To obtain effective signal information having a high resolving power of a high-sensitivity wide-band characteristic even in the ultrasonic medical examination field by providing a narrow-band oscillation (f) and a wide-band oscillation (f) different in acoustic impedance. CONSTITUTION:A composite ultrasonic probe consists of a wide-band piezoelectric high polymer oscillator 4 where gold is vapor-deposited on both faces of a uniaxial stretching film having 300mum thickness and 25mm. diameter and consisting of a polyvinylidene fluoride resin to form an electrode, a narrow-band piezoelectric ceramic oscillator 5 where a silver-deposited electrode is provided on the surface of a lead niobate plate in 300mum thickness and 25mm. diameter, a packing material 6 including a proper quantity of tungsten powder, etc. By this constitution, a higher sensitivity is obtained in comparison with the sensitivity of a conventional probe consisting of a single material element, and effective signal information having a high resolving power is obtained even in the ultrasonic medical examination field. |
