PURPOSE:To prevent breakage of a rotating shaft and damage to a driving mechanism by arranging the rotating shaft and a driving shaft of a drive motor coaxially while the driving shaft is connected to one end of the rotating shaft through a slip coupling adapted to slip when given an excessive torque. CONSTITUTION:A drive motor 15 having a driving shaft 16 is fixed to a body 4. A rotating shaft 1 and the shaft 16 are arranged coaxially and the shaft 16 connected to one end of the shaft 1 through a slip coupling 17. When an excessive torque is given, the coupling 17 slips to absorb it. Driven by the motor 15, the shaft 16 is rotated and the coupling 17 transmits the torque thereof 16 to the shaft 1. As the shaft 1 runs, a grabbing teeth 12 moves straight together with a holder 3 and is closed by the wedging action of a liner 13 to hold a test piece therebetween 12. With such an arrangement, the shaft 1 can be rotated smoothly and hence, when the test piece is broken, no breaking shock will not act on the shaft 1 as bending moment. |
